WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR APPOINTMENT

At your initial consultation, your Osteopath or Physiotherapist will compile a full case history of your symptoms, medical history, diet and lifestyle.

Our osteopaths and physiotherapists are trained to examine areas of the body using a highly developed sense of touch called palpation. This is done to identify the body’s points of weakness or excessive strain. You may also be observed carrying out simple movements to aid diagnosis.

You will normally be asked to dress down to your underwear allowing examination of your body including areas that may be contributing to your symptoms. However, please do advise us if you wish to wear light clothing or have towels provided for your modesty.

Your osteopath or physiotherapist will discuss the a recommended treatment plan with you and estimate the likely number of sessions you might need. If the condition is unlikely to respond to osteopathy or physiotherapy treatment, we will advise you on how to seek further care.

Where necessary, we can organise specialist investigations quickly (x-rays, MRI scans). We then obtain your report to discuss results and agree a suitable treatment plan with you.

Please allow 45 minutes for your initial consultation and 30 minutes for subsequent appointments.
