SPORTS NUTRITION

Nutrition often feels complicated. There are so many mixed messages about foods and so many fad diets that convince us to cut things out, that it can be hard to understand the best things to eat.  Everyone seems to have an opinion on how you should eat, yet very few of them have any nutrition qualifications and even fewer of them understand your individual needs.

As a result, your nutrition habits are very often not meeting your needs, which means that health and performance can suffer.  A few small consistent changes can make a big difference; it really doesn’t have to be complicated.

Kate and Will are both highly qualified Registered Sports Nutritionists.  They aim to simplify the process and educate clients on the link between health, performance and nutrition and the role it plays in your well-being.  Is your diet delaying your rehab/ increasing your risk of injury/ impacting body composition, energy or sports performance?

Whether you’re a growing young athlete or an older non athlete (or anything in between!), the food you eat plays a big part in your well-being but it is very often overlooked or over complicated.

Key areas of nutrition support @ Pureform:

  • Nutrition for general health and wellbeing

  • Injury rehabilitation

  • Pre & Post Surgery

  • Weight management & body composition goals

  • Sports performance

All services are tailored to the unique needs of each client.  Typically, clients will be required to complete a food diary prior to their initial consultation for Kate or Will to analyse in order to make recommendations for improvements.

A beneficial tool to aid nutrition consultations is our RMR testing service which allows us to calculate individual daily energy requirements.  This helps inform nutrition plans and help clients achieve their goals.   Very often, clients have a misinformed idea of their energy needs which can have a negative impact on health, performance and injury recovery.

If you would like help with understanding how to improve your nutrition, please book an appointment with Kate Shilland  or Will Scudder.
