Osteopathy is a medical speciality which concentrates on the diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body, and is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together. Sports Massage involves hands-on manipulation of muscles, tendons and ligaments and can benefit anyone recovering from a soft tissue injury or trying to prevent one. You don’t have to be an athlete to feel the benefit though. Whilst sports massage therapy can help reduce muscle tension, promote flexibility and help you to prevent injuries it can also help maintain general well-being.
Treatment by Medical acupuncture will consist of fine needles being inserted into specific points of the body. The number of needles used will vary and you should only feel a pinprick momentarily. Acupuncture may be used alongside physiotherapy to relieve tissue inflammation and pain to restore movement. Billy Chooi and David Ho-Schmi our Osteopaths and Russell our Physiotherapist will be happy to discuss this treatment option with you.
Physiotherapy is short for physical therapy. Physiotherapists aim to restore movement and normal body function following injury, illness or disability affecting muscles, joints and soft tissues. They do this with the use of movement and exercise, manual therapy techniques and massage. Please click here to find out more. At our David Lloyd Clinic we have a start of the art gym to bring you back to full fitness.
