St Georges Hospital Medical School 2003 – 2006
Russell graduated from St Georges in 2006 with second class honours having changed career from working in the city. He combined college work whilst continuing to be a registered personal trainer and being a full-time dad.

Russell has a particular interest in injury prevention for contact sports and endurance events on two wheels. He is also a member of Associated Chartered Physiotherapists in Occupational Health (ACPOHE).He has a broad background in sport having participated in Level 3 rugby whilst at Camberley RFC, embarked on several marathons with varying degrees of success. He is now an endurance bike rider, often to be found riding across Europe in races like TCR, TPR, RAAM and multi-day endurance efforts for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation charity during the 6 nations (on his tartan bike). In the 6 years since Russell cycled up to Edinburgh solo, it has raised nearly £3 million. This gives Russell a unique insight into physiotherapy for Athletic Performance Enhancement, Injury Prevention and sporting rehabilitation and what motivates individuals. Russell is also involved in helping to present courses to would be endurance riders.
Russell has experience of working with elite rugby players, runners, service men and weekend warriors. He has worked with Blackheath RFC, London Scottish FC and the SRU and has experience of working with elite youth athletes at Wellington College. He has spent time working at Headley Court working with service personnel. He has worked with many consultants and believes in a holistic multi-disciplinary approach to injury prevention and rehabilitation.
